Why do we do this?
For the past few years, families in Palestine have been experiencing a humanitarian crisis. Israel’s ongoing genocide on the Palestinian is a violation of basic human rights. With countless people killed, injured or displaced and access to basic necessities like food, water, and medical aid becoming increasingly scarce, the Palestinian people need our support more than ever.
(Inter)national response to the genocide remains slow and insufficient. Politicians all over the world are turning a blind eye to the situation, leaving the fate of Gaza up for grabs.
As Queer March, we believe that minorities anywhere are responsible for minorities everywhere. The fight for justice, human rights, and equality connects all marginalized groups. Solidarity is at the heart of everything we do—not just within the LGBTQ+ community, but for all marginalized groups facing oppression. As a community that knows the power of collective support, we cannot stand by in silence.
This is why we are launching this fundraiser. Every piece in this auction has been donated to us by community members and allies and can be bought through auction. Every euro will go to a trusted organization delivering the money directly to families in need. If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser. General donations can also be made.
None of us are free until all of us are free.
How do we do this?
We work with an online ‘auction’ system to give as many people as possible the chance to participate. This way, we hope to raise as much money as possible for Palestine.
All of these pieces have been donated by artists from Ghent and around who care about this cause. Thanks to their free donations, the highest bid we receive will be deposited entirely to families in need in Palestine.
Want to help us raise money but no time to visit the expo? Let us show you the pieces that are up for auction so you can bid away and chime in. Just click the image of the piece you like, place your bid and hope you win.
Thanks for supporting this initiative and helping us raise funds for Palestinian families in need.
